On Wednesday the Sandwell House Project Team and seven amazing young people joined the National House Project’s Care Leavers National Movement (CLNM) annual conference in Manchester.
Sandwell was proudly represented, with two of our inspiring young people taking on leadership roles as CLNM reps. They played a key part in planning and delivering the event, showcasing their organisational skills and commitment to making the day a success.
The conference was packed with opportunities for growth and connection. We heard from engaging guest speakers and explored creative ideas like “being More Pirate,” but the real highlight was the chance to connect with other care-experienced young people from across the country. Each House Project hosted a stall to share what “interdependence” means to them, both individually and as a community. Sandwell’s theme was Power Rangers, symbolising teamwork and mutual support in achieving goals and solving challenges. Our life-size Power Rangers were a hit and will soon bring some colour and fun to Metsec before Christmas!
Overall, the day was a celebration of care-experienced young people, their voices, their creativity, and their leadership. Sandwell shone brightly and we were proud of the confidence, collaboration and resilience shown by every young person involved.
